Love is always the first casualty of a religious war, the second is Truth and the third... Humanity.

About This Quote

A religious war is a series of conflicts between different religions, races or political groups. The word "religion" refers to the system of ideas concerning the supernatural, especially the belief in one or more supernatural beings, practices, or institutions. Religion can also refer to the ritualized practices of a particular religion. Religious wars are often waged over the control of holy sites.

The first casualty of war is truth. Whether it be an ancient battle between different countries or even sides in an ancient battle between different religions, the first casualty is truth. Truth becomes relative to what each side believes, and what they stand to gain from their beliefs.

Humanity loses when one group decides that all others are lesser than themselves and must be destroyed because they are not worthy.
